Seed Dispersal Models

Today we started thinking about how to show that animals disperse seeds. The class is using different materials to build a model. They had to plan and sketch their model and try it out. Then they will be seeing if they can  move the seed without touching the seed with their hands. It's a fun and exciting experiment for a rainy Friday!

We are starting our new science unit on Seed Dispersal! Yesterday we talk about what we know about animals moving seeds. Don't forget we have a class walk to collect seeds on Thursday!

2H is excited about all the new books in their library!

Note from the lunch room: the healthy school snack has now began. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays there will be a fruit or veggie snack provided! 

It's also a good idea to send in a snack anyways in case your child is not a fan of the snack provided.

Hello Second Graders and Parents, 

It's the start of a brand new year! I am very excited to have you in my class. We have a lot we will be learning and exploring together this year!

Even though many students have been asking, we are not starting homework until Monday, September 12th. Then all students will have math and reading every Monday through Thursday nights. Please help support your students by reading with them and making sure all the homework comes back each morning!

Also if you would like to be a part of our Class Dojo, let me know. I have received many emails and numbers and have sent out invites. This is where you can track how your students' days are going.
